To the sponsors of the electronic recycle event: I just want to say how upset I was when I arrived at the Livestock Events center at 11:40 A.M. to be told that the event was closed. All of the advertising I saw indicated that the event would be open from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. I drove in from Stead to recycle two old TVs and a couple of computer monitors. After dropping off the electronics, I was going to be gas smart and do other things in town before driving home. But as a result, I had to drive back to Stead (wasting gas), unload the electronics, and then drive into town again. I understand that if I take time off from work that I can still recycle my computer monitors but not my old TVs. Since the TVs apparently are not recyclable at any location, I want to know what we consumers who are environmentally conscious are supposed to do with our old TVs? It is a shame in this day and age that there is no way to recycle some things, such as old TVs. Even if you didn’t want to recycle them, you can’t put them in your garbage, as Waste Management doesn’t want these TVs either. WHAT’S A PERSON SUPPOSED TO DO?
