  • Washoe County Recorder, Kathy Burke with a front seat view of the local economy, first noted the downward trend of the local economy through a decrease in recordation’s in 2006.
  • Now the decline has flattened out.
  • Recording Fees are $14.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each page thereafter. These are one-time fees.
  • There is a $25.00 fee for a nonstandard form. One condition that can cause a form to become nonstandard, is writing in the margins, such writing will not be successfully scanned, requiring additional time and hands on processing.
  • The Recorder’s office processes over three hundred document types.

Biography

Kathryn L. "Kathy" Burke was elected Washoe County Recorder in 1998 and took office January 4, 1999. She has worked in the Washoe County Recorder`s Office since 1985, working through the ranks.
She also worked in the Mineral County Recorder/Auditor`s Office from 1982 to 1985.
She is a member of the National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials and Clerks (NACRC), Nevada Electronic Records Committee (NERC), County Fiscal Officer`s Association (CFOA), Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) and the Nevada Association of Counties (NACO).
