An Interview with
Sharron Angle
Tax Initiative
Candidacy for Senate - District 3
Against Bill Raggio

Tid Bits
(In Her Own Words)

The property tax cap of 3 percent on residential and 8 percent on commercial and rental property were passed in 2005. I (Sharron Angle) was the only "no" vote "because they are obviously in violation of the Constitution's "all property taxes must be uniform and equal" clause." Raggio on the other hand voted for this and has said "The people of this state are not over-taxed."

Of the Property Tax Reform Initiative I sponsored, Raggio stated "I do not believe that ought to be in the constitution . . . It is ill-advised." (Nevada NewsMakers August 2, 2007) Finally Raggio "supported Gov. Kenny Guinn's $836 million tax hike during the 2003 session." (Las Vegas Sun Nov. 4, 2007)

Regarding the Petition Disqualification In Clark County:
I (Angle) have filed a lawsuit at the Supreme Court because the deadline of May 20 is unconstitutional (Article 19 Sec 2,4 and 3,2) The Constitutional deadline is Aug. 7.

Regarding the Assertion That, Angle's Contributions Come From Out Of State:
They are mistaken. In looking at my State Assembly races on the Secretary of State's Website most of my contributions are from small Nevada donors. I do not take money from casinos or unions. Raggio's reports are full of big donors most of whom are from Las Vegas and out of state.
