- We challenged the deadline, saying that it was unconstitutional and the Supreme Court agreed with us.
- We knew we had a Nevada Supreme Court appeal and we also knew that we had a Ninth Circuit Court appeal. We’ve split the two appeals.
- We’re actually being held accountable for a law that doesn’t exist.
- Judge McGee’s parting words to me. But take comfort Mrs. Angle; because a law will be written in the next legislative session I’m sure to cover this.
- The Secretary of State said, “we found them to be in compliance with the law and we are certifying this petition.
- Judge McGee’s wife is a Washoe County School District employee for 27 years.
- The Nevada Teachers Association is in lock step with the AFL-CIO, who also said to their members, “we feel good about defeating or at least challenging Sharon Angle…. And her property tax initiative. We want you to donate to this legal pursuit because it is much less expensive to challenge an initiative in court than it is to challenge them when they get to the ballot.
Addendum
- We were told by the Nevada Supreme court that they would not decide in our favor since they rejected our request to appear on the ballot but we could appeal if we want to. Our attorney said that would be a waste of money.
- We are going on to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
